As I stated previously, learning Wordpress will take several weeks to become an adequate user. Even then, it is likely you still won’t be able to make specific customizations to your site because to modify themes and plugins will require a solid knowledge base in PHP, HTML and CSS (web programming languages). But, if you are planning to make major changes to your site once a week or more, it might be worth the extra time to learn these things and use Wordpress rather than hiring a web designer.
